The film touches on many of the issues caused by and impacting our current unsustainable food system and points to the relocalisation of food systems as a key strategy for working toward sustainability, social justice and well-being. | ||

In 2008, 24 global cities will participate in Earth Hour at 8pm on March 29. Earth Hour is the highlight of a major campaign to encourage businesses, communities and individuals to take the simple steps needed to cut their emissions on an ongoing basis. It is about simple changes that will collectively make a difference – from businesses turning off their lights when their offices are empty, to households turning off appliances rather than leaving them on standby | ||

Tropical vegetables such as cassava, aibika, Tahitian spinach, pitpit and sweet potato are amongst the selection of vegetables explored on the day. Growing tropical vegetables is easy in this climate we live in and when you become more familiar with them you will realize that you can grow so much more food with very little care and irrigation. The community gardens demonstrate these tropical vegetables with their support species and we will be harvesting these tropical vegetables for the workshop lunch where all the participants will be assigned a simple recipe to create a very unusual but delicious lunch! | ||
