Robert Pekin will be guest speaker at this month's Permaculture Noosa meeting. Robert is the founding coordinator of Food Connect - an ethically charged Brisbane business harmoniously linking farmers and consumers. www.foodconnect.com.au

Transition Sunshine Coast is keen to get Robert involved in establishing CSAs here on the coast as part of our Energy Descent Action Planning process and building local resilience in our food supply systems.

A former dairy farmer, for a long time Robert has been driven by the belief that societies need to work together to share food affordably across the world as a basic human right.

As one of the country’s most forward-thinking, passionate and intuitive souls when it comes to utilising soil, he’s committed to big-picture dreaming about new and daring paths that Australians might start to tiptoe along in the way we think and act about food.

Community Wealth Working Group
Saturday March 14th
2.30-5.30pm

After the last Witta general meeting, a small group of us met to explore what might yet be done in the area of community wealth ie, real wealth, not just 'money' as we know it. So if you are interested in increasing support for the alternatives that already exist, as well as novel ways of funding and sharing resources, we invite you to come along to the next meeting. One project is developing a Hinterland currency along the lines of the Totnes pound.
