Walk Against Warming
The SCEC hosted National Walk Against Warming event will be held on Sunday 11 November 2007 at 10.30 am at Alexandra Headlands Surf club (along Aerodrome Road to Sixth Avenue and back)
Join with friends, family and other Australians for a sausage sizzle, speakers, and music and call for urgent government action on climate change. Be the voice for our environment and our children's future. The 2007 Walk against Warming will highlight the need for political action to reduce Australia's greenhouse emissions through:
- A reduction in energy use and energy efficiency
- A shift to renewable energy
- Better public transport systems
- An end to land clearing and logging of old growth forests
- A price being placed on carbon emissions
Bring your umbrella, your scooter or bike, your kids and/or grandparents – or just yourself - and come along to show all political parties that we expect action, not just talk, on climate change. Please keep this event in mind…..because there is still time to prevent dangerous climate change for the future of our children and our grandchildren.
