Liz and I came to Maleny from Brisbane in August 2005, and we love it here. I've long appreciated the importance of living sustainably, but after discovering the concept of 'peak oil' I realised that we simply don't have time to delay any more. We have to act now. The issue of climate change adds an extra layer of peril -- even if peak oil were not looming, continuing with Business As Usual is not an option.

I'm working full-time as a software developer, but in my spare time I'm teaching myself to grow food, learning about sustainable practices, and designing a permaculture garden for our small property. I've got a lot to learn though!
