At the last Maleny Climate Action Group meeting, the 'communication' focus group discussed the Tupperware Party model for raising awareness. Another Queensland group "RWBI" has already pioneered this approach. (See this link: http://www.energybulletin.net/20309.html)

Showing a film is a good way to get the ball rolling, but most of the films that cover climate change, peak oil, etc are bit long. There are a few short films around that could be appropriate, eg:

BTW I've some across some neat techniques for putting YouTube, Google Video, and other internet films onto DVD; I'll post the details of this later.
